Journey in Art
I graduated from my textile degree in 1998.
Getting straight back on with the business of painting, it was unavoidable for the flat painting techniques I was trained in, to seep through.
In the early days, work was on whatever I could scavenge, even a cardboard box was used when desperate for a surface to paint on. I immerse in themes for long periods of time, and all themes merge eventualy in some way.
I search deep inside me when deciding what to paint. Often, images will come to me in a flash of inspiration, a feeling, a dream or vision.
Every piece is a reminder of my own development.
